Dutch Elm Conservatoire . Nominated for the prestigiousPerrier Award at the 2005Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the show "Dutch Elm Conservatoire in Conspiracy". "The Dutch Elm Conservatoire" performed their last live show "Prison " at the 2006 Edinburgh festival and theBelfast theatre festival in November 2006. They intend to return to the stage with a new sketch show in late 2008.Stephen graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in
Theatre atDartington College of Arts inDevon ( 1992-95 ). He has appeared in various productions forBBC television including; "Vine" in two series of Hyperdrive,Nighty Night ,My Family ,Holby City , "Fear of Fanny" by Brian Fillis, directed by Coky Giedroyc for BBC 4, "No Signal"Sky TV, and most recentlyThe Green Green Grass byJohn Sullivan (BBC).
Stage work includes a 24hr play called "The Warp " with director/performerKen Campbell . Also Stephen wrote and performed in a sketch troupe calledThe Benders .Film work includes "Dust", "Spivs", "Antmuzak", "Blakes Junction 7" and "Shooters". He recently played a referee in the latest short byTim Plester called "World of Wrestling" which has been released and will be available on DVD in early 2008. He has also written for shows such as "Revolver" and "Velvet Soup" forBBC Scotland andBBC Radio 1 's late night comedy "The Milk Run". He appeared in an adaptation of the novel "The Dark Is Rising " ("The Seeker") bySusan Cooper forTwentieth Century Fox .For 2008 Stephen can be seen in the forthcoming series of "Comedy Cuts" on
ITV2 , and is also working on a television sketch show with "The dutch elm conservatoire" forITV2 . He has recently recorded a television pilot forMiranda Hart s own sitcom, "Miranda Hart's Joke Shop", for theBBC2 which has now gone to series and will air in 2009.Stephen has also recently featured in two short films. "Curtains" was written and directed by
Julian Barratt andDan Jemmett . It will be released in Autum, 2008, and "Trimming the Fat" written and directed byMatt Huntley for "BBC Films /Idiotlamp Productions ", also featuringMatthew Horne ,Ben Willbond andTony Way .External links
