Richard Rampton QC (born
12 April 1941 ) is a leading British libel lawyer. He has been involved in several high profile cases, with his defence ofDeborah Lipstadt andPenguin Books againstDavid Irving among the most famous. In this case, he represented them against accusations oflibel after Lipstadt accused Irving of being a Holocaust-denier. He also representedMcDonald's in theMcLibel case , where the company controversially sued two members of the "London Greenpeace " environmental campaigning group.Rampton's earlier cases include
