The small village of Pussy (IPA2|pysi) is located in the commune of
La Léchère in theSavoie "département" ofFrance , not far from Moûtiers.The name derives from the
Gallo-Roman name "Pusiacum", from "pusus" meaning "little boy".Lying near the
river Isère and the mountain of Mont Bellachat, the village boundary covers 18 km² (6.8 mile²). The local church, dedicated toSaint John the Baptist , was rebuilt in1669 .In
1561 the population was recorded as 1455 people, 548 in1776 , and 276 in1979 .Pussy and several other small villages were merged into the La Léchère commune for administrative purposes in
