Brooks England

Brooks England

Brooks England is a bicycle saddle manufacturer located in Smethwick, Birmingham, England. The company is well-known for manufacturing traditional leather bicycle saddles. It has been in operation since 1866, when it was founded in Hockley, Birmingham.

The B-17 is perhaps its most common and most popular saddle. B-66 is its most popular sprung saddle, but because of the needs for a special clamp (because the saddle has two rails), the single rail B-67 was developed. Other recent developments include using titanium instead of steel, for those to whom weight is important.

In 2000, Brooks' parent company, Sturmey Archer collapsed, jeopardising the existence of the manufacturer, but Selle Royal bought the company in 2003 with efforts to revitalise the brand.
