Octavia Maior (Maior Latin for the elder, flourished
1st century BC ) was a daughter of the Roman governor and senatorGaius Octavius from his first wife, Ancharia. She also was an elder half-sister toOctavia Minor andRoman Emperor Augustus . [Sueton , "Life of Augustus" 4.1] Little is known of her.Plutarch only knows one daughter Octavia of Gaius Octavius and confuses Octavia Maior with Octavia Minor.Octavia Maior was married to "Sextus Appuleius", who held the offices of a
praetor urbanus andquaestor . Their son was also called "Sextus Appuleius" and wasconsul in 29 BC together with Augustus.
