Victoraş Constantin Iacob (born October 14 1980, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Vâlcea County) is a Romanian professional football player.

Club career

AS Rocar Bucuresti

He started to play professional football at AS Rocar Bucuresti and he played his first match in Divizia A on December 4, 1999 against FC Arges Pitesti, but unfortunately his team was defeated with 3-1.

He played two seasons (1999-2000 / 2000-2001) for AS Rocar Bucuresti and he scored 4 times in 30 games. In 2001 AS Rocar Bucuresti went in the second League and the owner of the team, Gigi Netoiu moved along with a part of the players, including Victoras Iacob to Universitatea Craiova.

Universitatea Craiova

He played 15 games for Universitatea Craiova and scored 3 times. While he was playing for Universitatea, Iacob suffered a injury which kept him away from the field for a long period of time.

FC National

In 2002 Victoras Iacob was transferred to FC National where played in 27 games and scored 4 times.

Otelul Galati

In the next season 2003-2004 Victoras Iacob played half of season for Otelul Galati and the other half at Rapid Bucuresti. Iacob didn’t manage to confirm the expectations of Rapid officials and turned back to Otelul Galati.

The season 2004-2005 was the best of his career. In 28 games he scored 13 goals and was remarked by Mihai Stoica, the general manager from Steaua Bucuresti, who obtained his signature and didn’t pay anything for him because was at the end of the contract with Otelul Galati.

teaua Bucuresti

His first season for Steaua was a good one and they won the champion title. He played in 22 games and scored five times.

First season in UEFA Cup 2004-2005 was a very good season for his team, after they got out of a group with Standard Liege, Besiktas Istanbul, U.C. Sampdoria and Athletic Bilbao, they succeeded to eliminate in the knock-out stage Valencia CF, the ex-winner of UEFA Cup. Unfortunately they were eliminated in the eighth finals by Villareal CF.

Next season 2005-2006, after they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League qualifiers by Rosenborg, they played again in the UEFA Cup groups and they had great results again. They defeated teams like RC Lens, Heerenveen S.C., Real Betis and Rapid Bucuresti in the quarter finals, their traditional Romanian rival from the internal competition. Steaua played the semifinal but unfortunately lost against Middlesbrough after two dramatic games.

In the season 2006-2007 Steaua Bucuresti with Victoras Iacob as titular succeeded to qualify in UEFA Champion League groups, in a group with Real Madrid, Olympique Lyonnais] and Dynamo Kiev. Sadly Iacob suffered another bad injury in 2007 and he didn’t manage to play any game in Uefa Champions League.

He played 20 games in the European Cups with Steaua and he scored 9 times, the biggest part of the goals he scored had been essential for the qualification in the next rounds.

FC Kaiserslautern

At the begging of 2008 he was transferred to FC Kaiserslautern, in the 2nd Bundesliga, for 500.000 €. He got injured in his first days at his new team and didn't manage to help them avoid relegation, despite playing a couple of matches.
