- Barry Posner
Barry Innis Posner (born 1937) is a Canadian physician and research scientist known for his
diabetes research, specifically hispeptide hormone research.Born in
Winnipeg, Manitoba , he received hisDoctor of Medicine from theUniversity of Manitoba in 1961.He became an assistant professor at
McGill University in 1970. He was appointed an Associate Professor in 1975 and a Professor in 1979. He is currently the Director of the Polypeptide Hormone Laboratory at McGill University and a Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology.From 1996 to 2002, he was the Physician-in-Chief at the
Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital .In 1999, he was made an Officer of the
Order of Canada . In 1991, he was made a Fellow of theRoyal Society of Canada . In 2002, he was awarded theQueen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal .References
