The Fox Theater in Spokane, Washington is a 1931 Art Deco movie theater that was recently restored for over $31 million and opened again as the home of the Spokane Symphony on November 17, 2007 with Tony Bennett performing on November 19, 2007 to help celebrate the Grand re-opening. The theater opened on September 3, 1931 and The Fox was closed in 2000 with the last movie showed being "Gladiator " starring Russell Crowe. The theater was then bought by the Spokane Symphony after it was almost torn down and turned into a parking lot. An extensive fund raising campaign began to help raise money to restore the theater as renovations began. The renovations were complete in November 2007 and was renamed Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox after a donor's father who donated $3 million towards the renovations. It was designed by architect Robert C. Reamer, notable for his design of the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone Park.

Notable performances

Notable performances at the theatre include: Katharine Hepburn, in "As You Like It", as well as Marian Anderson, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra.
