Sherwood Park is the newest station to open on the Warrnambool railway line, being completed in 2006. It is situated out the front of the Deakin University's Warrnambool campus, and services the University, golf course and growing commercial and residential precinct growing at the eastern entrance of Warrnambool.
Costing $1.15 million, the first train stopped at the station on February 19, 2006. From March 2007 the number of services stopping was increased from 2 to 28 per week. [cite web
