Diran Noubar

Diran Noubar (born October 5, 1975) is a French film director of Armenian and Italian descent.

Born in Lyon, France, Noubar is the director of Armenia, A Country under Blockade, a documentary film on the impact of Turkey's blockade of Armenia. The film was featured at the 2005 Myrtle Beach International Film Festival, as well as at the Golden Apricots, Yerevan's International film festival.

His next film, a documentary about gothic metal music, was released in November 2007 on DVD via Century Media/EMI. It portrays British band Paradise Lost as pioneers of the genre. The Film enjoyed great success worldwide in various festivals including Swansea Bay (UK), Everglades (South Africa), and Leipzig (Germany) and was premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

In 2007 he directed the music video for the song "Baby" from Serj Tankian's solo debut album "Elect the Dead". He also provided a guitar solo for the song "Saving Us" off the same album. He then directed Paradise Lost's music video for the song "Unreachable" from their album "In Requiem".

In 2009, Diran followed Portuguese ex-F1 and current WTCC driver Tiago Monteiro around the world for a whole year, shooting an extraordinary movie titled "Tiago Monteiro, The Man In Every Shot". The Film will premiere at the 2010 Cannes Film festival.

Diran is also currently directing a Documentary about Formula One legend Riccardo Patrese to be released later in 2010.

Noubar owns the film production company Kayane Productions and the independent record-label Antranik Records, both of which are based in Los Angeles, California. He recently created a Full-Service Photo/Video Production company called Karmantra Inc. dedicated to the music industry.
