(2006)"59" is an
album by Japanese pop duoPuffy AmiYumi , released in 2004 (see2004 in music ).Miscellanea
The cover resembles the cover to
Creedence Clearwater Revival 's 2nd album "Bayou Country "."So Long Zero" is actually the third iteration of this particular song in a little more than a year. The first, "Invisible Tomorrow", was sung in Japanese and appeared on the album 2003 album "
Nice. " The second and third recordings, "Friends Forever" and "So Long Zero" are both sung in English but with entirely different lyrics and vocal arrangements. They were originally released nearly concurrently on the soundtrack to "" and the album "59", respectively, although "Friends Forever" was later also included on the "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi " soundtrack."Sunrise" was the theme song to the Japanese anime TV show "
SD Gundam Force "."Joining a Fan Club" is a cover of the Jellyfish song of the same name, which originally appeared on the 1993 album "
Spilt Milk ". Andy Sturmer, Puffy's producer and primary songwriter at the time of "59"'s release, was also a founding member of Jellyfish."59" was one of Sony Japan's experiments with the LabelGate form of
digital rights management . A large label on the back of the CD contains an explanation of the "CCCD " (Copy Control CD) technology, and in addition to copy controls, the LabelGate technology allows for rudimentary region controls (easily bypassed). Later Puffy CDs did not ship with any digital rights management technology, even in Japan."59" was a "mini-album" that went out of print almost immediately after release and has a reputation for being difficult to find in the West (though it is certainly not "rare"). However, it was re-released in 2006 and is now more readily attainable.
