The format was very similar to one of Barris' other shows, "
The Newlywed Game ". The difference between TNG and this show was that Race would ask three couples a series of multiple-choice questions about their children. Their job was to match answers with a resident child psychologist.Five questions were asked each show with the first four questions allowing all six players to give individual answers, and on the fifth and final question all couples must agree on one answer.
