Baillieston railway station is located in Caledonia Road on the southern boundary of the Baillieston area of Glasgow. It is on the Whifflet Line 13 km (8 miles) east of Glasgow Central railway station. Train services are provided by First ScotRail. The line was built in the period 1864-1866 by the Caledonian Railway and was called the Rutherglen to Coatbridge branch. Freight traffic commenced in 1865 and passenger services started in August 1866.

The original Baillieston station was situated approximately 1 km further east at the southern end of Station Road. It was opened in 1866 commensurate with the start of passenger travel on the line. It was closed in 1965 and demolished thereafter. The current station opened on October 1st 1993.

ervices

A half-hourly service operates between Glasgow Central and Whifflet stations, on Mondays to Saturdays. There are currently no services on Sundays.
