Rabat American School

The Rabat American School (RAS) is an independent college preparatory day school located in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. The program is co-educational and non-residential. English is the language of instruction. The school was founded in 1962 as a K-8 school to meet the needs of Americans affiliated with U.S. Government agencies and/or private companies. Today, students from more than 25 countries attend the school, and total enrollment is approximately 400 in Pre-K through grade 12. In 1969, the school moved to an 8 acre site in the suburb of Agdal. Facilities include four computer labs, two science labs, two libraries, an auditorium, sports fields, a gymnasium and swimming pool.

A ninth grade was added in 1974. Grades ten, eleven, and twelve were added in 1978. RAS offers the International Baccalaureate Programme at the high school level, and graduates attend universities such as Boston College Johns Hopkins University, University of California, Los Angeles, McGill University, American University in Paris, City University, London, and University of Cambridge. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of School and Colleges, as well as being recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
