Brad Bradley (born November 17, 1980) is a professional wrestler under contract to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestling for its SmackDown brand as Ryan Braddock.

Career

Early career

Bradley started his wrestling training at the Steel Domain Wrestling school in Chicago, where he trained alongside such wrestlers as CM Punk and Colt Cabana. Bradley suffered several setbacks in his career as he suffered from an overactive thyroid, which would cause him to fall asleep during matches.cite video|people=CM Punk; Colt Cabana|title= [http://www.rohwrestling.com/shoponline.asp?point=moreinfo&catid=200&id=1397 Straight Shootin' with CM Punk & Colt Cabana] |medium=DVD|publisher=Ring of Honor|date=2005-07-01] He worked for several independent promotions in the Mid-West, most notably for IWA Mid-South, before signing a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

World Wrestling Entertainment

Deep South Wrestling

Bradley signed a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) developmental contract in December 2005cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/profiles/r/ryan-braddock.html|title=Ryan Braddock Profile|accessdate=2008-02-17|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling] . He debuted in then WWE developmental territory Deep South Wrestling (DSW) as "The Monster of the Midway" Bradley Jay. During his time in DSW he won the Deep South Heavyweight Championship on several different occasions. Meanwhile he also wrestled dark matches for both the "Raw" and "SmackDown!" brand shows. [cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/raw/060403.html|title=WWE Raw Results - April 3, 2006|date=2006-04-03|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling] When WWE ended their relationship with DSW he was then sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling to continue his development.

Ohio Valley Wrestling

On May 16 he debuted in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) under the name Jay Bradley, defeating former OVW Heavyweight Champion, Chet the Jett. [cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/ovw/_2007/|title=May 16, 2007 – OVW TV Tapings|date=2007-05-16|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling] He defeated Paul Burchill and Idol Stevens in a three-way match via two Lariats to win the OVW Heavyweight Championship on June 1 at OVW's first "Summer Sizzler Series" event at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky to become the first man to hold both the OVW and DSW heavyweight titles. [cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/ovw/_2007/|title=June 1, 2007 – OVW Six Flags|date=2007-06-01|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling] On June 15, 2007, at Ohio Valley Wrestling's third "Super Summer Sizzler Series" event of the year at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky, he defeated Idol Stevens to retain the OVW title. [cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/ovw/_2007/|title=June 15, 2007 – OVW Six Flags|date=2007-06-15|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling]

He then lost the title to Paul Burchill in a match taped on June 27 and aired on June 30. He has also wrestled at "RAW" house shows on August 11 and 12 and September 1 (losing to "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan). He also did a dark match against D'Lo Brown before the "SmackDown!" taping during August 2007. On December 19, in OVW, he won the "Love Thy Neighbor" four corners tag team match to win a future OVW Heavyweight title shot. [cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/ovw/_2007/|title=December 19, 2007 – OVW TV Tapings (Airs 12/29)|date=2007-10-19|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling]

He then was starting a feud with Matt Sydal and had defeated him in a tag team match where he and Mike Kruel defeated Sydal and Charles Evans. [cite web|url=http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/ovw/_2007/|title=January 23, 2008 – OVW TV Tapings|date=2008-01-23|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=Online World Of Wrestling] Unfortunately, before Bradley could exercise his title opportunity, OVW was dropped by the World Wrestling Entertainment as a development territory.

mackDown

Bradley debuted on the main "SmackDown" roster on the August 15 edition, under the name Ryan Braddock. He was easily defeated by The Big Show after a knockout hook.cite web|url=http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/archive/08152008/|title=A Gigantic debut|date=2008-08-15|last=Burdick|first=Michael|accessdate=2008-09-27|publisher=WWE] At the August 14, 2008, Florida Championship Wrestling TV taping, Bradley wrestled under the Ryan Braddock name once again, making it his permanent and new ring name. On the August 22 edition of "SmackDown", Braddock competed in a battle royal to qualify for the WWE Championship Scramble match at "Unforgiven", but was eliminated by Big Show, who was not officially in the match. [cite web|url=http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/archive/08222008/|title=Four chances at ultimate glory|date=2008-08-22|last=Burdick|first=Michael|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=WWE] On the September 2 edition of "ECW", Braddock faced Ricky Ortiz in a losing effort after being pinned by Ortiz's Big O finisher. [cite web|url=http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/archive/09022008/|title=Dirty Scrambles|date=2008-09-02|last=DiFino|first=Lennie|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=WWE] On September 19 edition of "SmackDown", Braddock competed in a one fall match-up with Festus, who was accompanied by Jesse.cite web|url=http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/archive/09162008/|title=My Movers Co. is packing up SmackDown|date=2008-09-19|last=Burdick|first=Michael|accessdate=2008-10-02|publisher=WWE] Braddock won the match as a result of a disqualification, after Jesse and Festus wrapped him in bubble wrap and duct tape.
