Karanarunui ,New Zealand ,May 18 ,1938 –Melbourne ,December 14 ,1999 ) was aNew Zealand -born actor, best remembered for his performances inAustralian television .He appeared in the
soap opera "Number 96" in 1974-1975 and completed a five-week stint in medical soap opera "The Young Doctors ". Adams then became a leading cast member in the police procedural series "Cop Shop " as Detective Jeff Johnson starting in 1977. He left that series for a role in musical theatre, but later returned, staying until the series was cancelled in December 1983. He subsequently appeared in "Prisoner" as the tough Acting Governor Bob Moran, for three months in 1986.He died in 1999 of cancer, at the age 61.
