Balmoral, New Brunswick

Balmoral (2006 population: 1,706) is a Canadian village in Restigouche County, New Brunswick, New Brunswick. Its population meets the requirements for "Town" status under the Municipalities Act of the Province of New Brunswick.

It is located approximately 10 kilometres south of Dalhousie and was settled in the 1850s by Joseph Drapeau. When a contingent of settlers from Scotland came to the area, they gave the community its present name after Balmoral Castle.

Forestry is the most important industry in the village.

Balmoral's population meets the requirements for "town" status under the Municipalities Act of the Province of New Brunswick, however the community has not made any change to its municipal status.
