Distibutive Consciousness

Distributive consciousness is the idea of shared consciousness over many individuals. It has been explored in many sci-fi series such as Star Trek, and the Stargate series. Some examples include the Borg, Replicators, and The Asended.

A very rudimentary form of distributive consciousness has been created with computers using distributed computing, where computers work together to create tremendous computing power. In the future with the advent of new technologies distributive consciousness will become a reality for humanity. The implications of this will be tremendous.
