Phoenix is an
unincorporated community located in Baltimore County in the State ofMaryland in the United States of America. It is located at latitude 39°30'59"North , longitude 76°36'59"West . [GNIS|591002|name=Phoenix] TheUnited States Postal Service has assigned Phoenix theZIP code 21131.Also known as Jacksonville, although Jacksonville was once a separate community to the east, [GNIS|590549|name=Jacksonville] Phoenix was the location of a recent Exxon gas leak, where over 26,000 gallons of gas slowly seeped out of a cracked tank at "Four Corners" intersection. Several Lawsuits were filed and are still being continued (as of May, 2007). The area affected was about a half-mile downhill from the location of the gas station.
Phoenix is a fast growing country-like area with its own elementary school- Jacksonville Elementary. Four Corners strip mall has a grocery store, McDonalds, two gas stations, a Klein's, Blockbuster and a Volunteer Fire Department.
Phoenix, Maryland, provided the setting for many scenes in
