He captured the bronze medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1996 and 1997. In 1999, he suffered a number of injuries that forced him to turn professional.
Hollander lives in Michigan and is touring the U.S., as of 2008[update]. He is well known for his comedic skating programs.[citation needed]
