Standard Tech

Standard Tech

In Scientology, Standard Tech refers to uncompromising application of the Dianetics and Scientology techniques prescribed by L. Ron Hubbard. There is a symbol designating Standard Tech, which the Religious Technology Center claims as a trademark and service mark. When an individual's case progress seems blocked, Scientology doctrine states that the cause must be non-standard or misapplied Tech. The Church of Scientology considers Flag Land Base and its Sea Org vessels (like "Freewinds") to offer the best in Standard Tech.

Since Hubbard's death and his replacement by successor David Miscavige, there have been many subtle and not-so-subtle alterations and omissions from Hubbard's texts and even recordings. These variant texts in Scientology doctrine have caused controversy both inside and outside the Church, especially among Free Zone practitioners who claim such changes, even minor ones, are inappropriate.
