Metzler traces its origins to a trading company established 1674 by Benjamin Metzler in Frankfurt and is Germany’s oldest private bank still owned exclusively by the founding family.
Metzler provides financial services as a merchant bank, in securities transactions, as asset manager and a corporate finance consultant.

In 1742 a member of the Metzler family had a seat on the Board of Frankfurt Stock Exchange and still today the family plays a paramount role in its role in foundations and as a patron of the arts.
