Joo Se Hyuk

Joo Se Hyuk

Joo Se Hyuk is a Korean table tennis player who has revolutionized the way players think about the defensive style. He is a member of the Korean National Team.

tyle of Play

Joo Se Hyuk uses a defensive table tennis style that throws opponents off their game completely. Utilizing series of defensive chops, he could put well-placed shots onto the opponent's side from enormous distances, combining it with massive amounts of spin. Joo Se Hyuk also uses a strong forehand topspin loop, and occasionally drives, to quickly counterattack an opponent. His dramatic and usually dynamic maneuvers across the table enables him to cover large areas, making him less prone to attack. Joo Se Hyuk is one of the few defensive players that rank in the International Top 50.

Equipment

Joo Se Hyuk has recently changed parts of his gear in favour of his new JOO-SE-HYUK Blade, which has replaced his old blade, the Diode, to the new Butterfly one that now bears his name. In fact, the JOO-SE-HYUK blade is the only Butterfly blade that the company classifies as DEF. He uses the common Flared Shakehand grip . In terms of rubber, Joo Se Hyuk now uses Butterfly rubbers-the 1.9mm Red Tackifire Drive as his forehand and the black long-pip Feint Long III as his backhand.

The five-layered JOO SE HYUK blade is perfect for defense as well as quick counterspins far from the table. The enlarged head of the blade provides the necessary control for chopping and blocking. The JOO SE HYUK is first choice for defenders who go for defense with heavy spin combined with fast topspins due to the hard feel.
