He is well known for his tackling as well as his passing. After the departure of veteran defenderChristian Wörns , Kehl is a top candidate to be the new captain of Dortmund; in fact, he wore the armband in their 2-1German Supercup victory overBayern Munich .Born in
Fulda (Hesse ), Kehl joined Borussia Dortmund in 2001 and has made 127 appearances. Kehl is undoubtedly a key player for the club, but he has faced many injury problems over his career; he made only 20 league appearances for the first team over the past two seasons.He made his international debut against Slovakia in 2001 and has made a total of 31 appearances for
