- West Midland Bird Club
The West Midland Bird Club is the UK's largest regional ornithological society. It has been serving
birdwatcher s and ornithologists in the four English counties ofStaffordshire ,Warwickshire ,Worcestershire and the Metropolitan West Midlands, with lectures, field trips, research, a bulletin and an annual report, since 1929. It is a registered charity, number 213311. Birmingham ,Kidderminster ,Stafford ,Solihull andTamworth .It manages the
Belvide Reservoir in Staffordshire, theHarborne Reserve in Birmingham, and theLadywalk Reserve in North Warwickshire, as well as running an access-permit scheme forBlithfield Reservoir andGailey Reservoir in Staffordshire. The Club co-founded and helps to manage theBardsey Bird and Field Observatory . The Club has an information centre atKingsbury Water Park (Warwickshire) and sponsors bird feeding stations atCannock Chase (Staffordshire) andDraycote Water (Warwickshire).Bill Oddie has been the Club's president since 1999. His first published article on birds appeared in the Club's 1962 Annual Report.Notable members
