National Science Advisor to the Prime Minister is a post that existed from 2004 to 2008. Dr. Arthur Carty officially started in the role of on April 1, 2004. The advisor headed the Office of the National Science Advisor (ONSA), within Industry Canada. Dr. Carty was previously the President of the National Research Council. When Dr. Carty retired on March 31, 2008, the position was eliminated.[1]
