- Afigya-Sekyere District
The Afigya-Sekyere District is a
district of Ghana in theAshanti Region . It is nearly all tropical forest and contains many types oflumber wood. There are usually around 120 days of rain per year, but most of these occur during the "rainy season", between March and July. Many of the region's most popular tourist attractions, such asTrobo Waterfall and theAboye Festival , are in this district.There are 329 schools and 18 health centers in the district. Two thirds of the workforce are
farmer s, with most of the rest employed in theservice sector . Major food crops includecassava ,plantain , yam, andmaize . The biggest cash crops arecocoa ,citrus fruits ,coffee , andpalm oil . Many people practicekente weaving and local forms ofpottery , which are then exported.ources
