- Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge
The Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge is a 14,800 acre (60 km²) wildlife refuge located in

1993 when the U.S. government purchased a large rice farm from the John Hancock Insurance Company. The refuge is located just south ofBald Knob, Arkansas and consists of 9,000 acres (36 km²) of agricultural land, 3,900 acres (16 km²) of bottomland hardwoods including wetland sloughs andoxbow lake s, and 1,900 acres (8 km²) of reforested land. waterfowl , other birds, andendangered species . Approximately 150,000 geese and 100,000pintail duck s winter on the site annually.References
