Vladimir Sommer (
February 28 ,1921 –September 8 ,1997 ) was a Czech composer fromDolni Jiretin nearMost .Sommer began his studies at the
Prague Conservatory , where he studied violin withBedřich Voldan and composition withKarel Janeček . He then continued his education at the Academy of Arts and Music withPavel Bořkovec . His first job was a composition teacher, and he eventually became a professor in the Music Department ofCharles University . Sommer wrote threesymphonies , anoverture , one cello concerto and one violinconcerto ,chamber music , and choral pieces. He died in 1997 inPrague .elected works
