- Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary
Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary is located in
Surajpur tehsil ofSurguja District ,Chhattisgarh ,India . It is named after the Tamor hill and Pingla Nalla, the old and prominent features of the area.Comprising Sal, mixed and bamboo forests, the area is under Ghui and Biharpur ranges of the South Surguja Forest Division. Spread over 608 km², the sanctuary supports
tiger s,leopard s,bear s, sambar deer, blue bulls,chital ,bison , four-horned antelope,chinkara ,barking deer ,wild boar s, wild dogs, wolves, jackals, striped hyenas,hare ,cobra s, nag, pythons, red jungle fowl, brown jungle fowl and green pigeon.November to June is ideal to visit the sanctuary.
The sanctuary is around 35 km west of Ambikapur.
Anuppur Junction Railway Station is the major railhead nearby. Bishrampur Railway Station is the nearest railhead.A forest guest house is available at Ramkola. Tourists are very rare at this wildlife sanctuary.
