Peripter

Peripter

A peripter is an ancient temple surrounded on all four sides with a portico with columns. Peripters are very frequent in the Corynthian and Doric order (Partenon and Tezeion in Athens; Apollo's temple in Selinunt on Sicily; Temple of Zeus in Olympia etc.)
