USS Tullibee

Two submarines of the United States Navy have borne the name USS "Tullibee", after the tullibee, any of several whitefishes of central and northern North America.

*USS "Tullibee" (SS-284) was lost on March 26, 1944 with 79 men lost. C.W. Kuykendall, GM2c, was the only survivor.
*USS "Tullibee" (SSN-597), a unique submarine, was a deeper-diving, ultraquiet submarine equipped with long-range sonar.
