A Gleam Invitational Handicap

The A Gleam Invitational Handicap is a race for Thoroughbred horses held in California in the United States of America. It is held on the same day as the Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes at Hollywood Park Racetrack, usually the beginning of July. The A Gleam is open to fillies and mares age three and up willing to sprint seven furlongs on the dirt. The race is a Grade II with a purse of $150,000.

The A Gleam was not run from 1947 through 1958. It was known as the Sequoia Handicap from its inception in 1941 until it was renamed in 1978 in honor of A Gleam (by Blenheim out of Twilight Tear by Bull Lea). Born in 1949, A Gleam was a stakes winning filly of exceptional class.
