- Enoch Hale
Enoch Hale (1733-1813) was born in
Rowley, Massachusetts onNovember 28 ,1733 . He and his brother Nathan Hale (not the famous spy of the same name in theAmerican Revolution ) would move toRindge, New Hampshire as young men. During theFrench and Indian War Enoch Hale served in theNew Hampshire Provincial Regiment in 1755 and 1757-1758. Enoch Hale was the 1stmagistrate in the town of Rindge. During theAmerican Revolutionary War Colonel Enoch Hale led the 15th New Hampshire Militia Regiment at theBattle of Bennington andBattle of Rhode Island in 1778. In 1785 he built the over theConnecticut River . Colonel Enoch Hale diedApril 9 ,1813 inGrafton, Vermont .ources
