USS Ohio

Five ships of the United States Navy have borne the name USS "Ohio", named for Ohio, admitted to the Union March 1, 1803, as the 17th State.

* was a schooner on Lake Erie during the War of 1812.
* was a ship of the line launched in 1820 and in use as a warship until 1850, then later a receiving ship.
* was a "Maine"-class pre-"Dreadnought" battleship.
*, a "Montana" class battleship cancelled before her keel was laid down.
*, the lead ship of the "Ohio" class of nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarines. Now one of the lead ships of the SSGN Conversions.

* A large American-owned oil tanker, the SS "Ohio" took part in Operation Pedestal, the August 1942 convoy to relieve the island of Malta.
