Glasgow Academicals Cricket Club is a cricket club based in the Anniesland area of Glasgow, Scotland. They are linked with The Glasgow Academy, a private school in Glasgow's West End, although the club has had open membership for many years.
The club runs 5 Senior XIs and Junior teams at 4 different age group levels ensuring that all levels are catered for. Coaching is the responsibility of Vedam Hariharan, one of the few ECB level 3 qualified coaches, as well as 11 other qualified coaches.
The club won the Brunton Miller Western Union for the second time in 2006. Promotion back to the Scottish National Cricket League followed when the side beat Kelso and Perthshire in the feeder leagues play-offs. The club also had success in the juniors, winning the West District under-18 League.
International matches have been played at their ground, New Anniesland - Israel played Portugal and Greece as part of the 2000 European Championships.
In August 2006 the European Championships returned to Glasgow - Israel played Norway and France behind closed doors after protesters vowed to disrupt the matches.
Scotland beat Denmark on August 8th by 3 runs (Duckworth Lewis method) and in the Division 2 Final on August 9th, Norway comfortably defeated Jersey.
