Torngat is a Montreal indie band and instrumental trio established in 2001.

Biography

Torngat's popularity increased with the 2005 release of their EP "La Rouge". During the spring of 2006 and after increasing demand, Torngat toured Eastern Canada. Torngat signed a two-album deal with Montreal experimental label Alien8 Recordings.cite web | author= Rajagopalan, Pras | title= Torngat Make It Up | work= Exclaim.ca | url=http://www.exclaim.ca/articles/multiarticlesub.aspx?csid1=115&csid2=4&fid1=27545 | date= October 2007 | accessdate=2007-09-26] The band recorded a full-length album "You Could Be", which was released on September 19, 2007. Amato formerly was horn player of Arcade Fire and currently a member of The Luyas and Bell Orchestre.
