Goplans

Goplans

The Goplans or Goplanie are a hypothetical pre-Polish tribe said to have lived around Lake Gopło with its capital in Kruszwica, between the 7th and 9th century.

It is said they controlled 400 gords (fortified wooden settlements), but this number seems to be too large for that period. Therefore, it is currently believed that Goplans were a union of several smaller tribes.
