Ira Losco is a singer, born 31 July 1981 in Sliema, Malta.With a string of number 1 singles and albums, Ira Losco is one of the best selling artists in Malta.

Career

"Tiara"

She started her career when she joined a college band, named Tiara. They released a track called "Teleport Me" for the Green Label Collection CD, and an album called "Hi-Infidelity" in 2001, which included tracks like "Basketball" which is their biggest hit.

Late in 2001, Ira also released an album called "Butterfly", which included hits such as "Summerbreeze" featuring top Maltese dj J. Joy & "Butterfly" featuring top Maltese rapper IQ, which is a cover version of Claudette Pace's entry for the Malta Song For Europe 1996.

"Eurovision 2002"

Tiara split up a few months after Ira Losco represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 which was held in Tallinn. She placed 2nd with the song 7th WonderFact|date=January 2008.In 2003, she was chosen to perform the song called "Reaching Higher" which was the official song of the Xth Games of the Small States of Europe Malta 2003.

Album Releases

"Someone Else"

April 19 2004, Ira released her album "Someone Else" which was more her style than her Eurovision Entry & "Butterfly" were- she was back to her original pop-rock/alternative style that she had with Tiara. On June 28 2004, Ira launched her second music video (after 7th Wonder) for the track "I'm In Love Again"Fact|date=January 2008

January 28 2005, the remix album of "Someone Else", named "Blends & Remixes Of Someone Else" was released. It included remixes by Top DJ's including DJ Ruby, Miss Roberta & Joseph Armani to name just a few.

"Accident Prone"

After winning more awards, more appearances on TV, more magazine covers, tours with top artists like Elton John, Katie Melua & Melanie C, she released the single of "Get Out" in Germany, and also released "Everyday" as a radio track in Malta.

Her second studio album named "Accident Prone" was released on November 16 2005. It included 9 brand new tracks, "Get Out", "Everyday" and a cover version of Lisa Miskovsky's "Driving One Of Your Cars". It topped the charts on the island. Out of the 9 tracks, "Everyday", "Get Out", "Don't Wanna Talk About It", "Driving One Of Your Cars", "Accident Prone", "Uh-Oh", and "Waking Up To The Light", were released as singles. All of them were a great success, receiving great airplay by local stations, particularly "Accident Prone"Fact|date=January 2008 and "Uh-Oh"Fact|date=January 2008.


="Unmasked"=

Ira's latest album is an unplugged album, including unplugged version of some of her tracks, 2 brand new tracks, a cover version of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time", another of Soft Cell's "Bedsitter", and another of The Cure's "Lovesong". The interpretations are all acoustic rock versions.

"Fortune Teller"

"Fortune Teller" is Ira Losco's third studio album released on 11th June 2008 in Malta. It topped all the local record shops' albums sales charts.

In July 2007, Ira Losco released her single entitled "Something To Talk About" from her third studio album Fortune Teller, which was released on June 11th 2008. Following (in December 2007) was the release of the second single from Fortune Teller, "Don't Look Down"Fact|date=January 2008,written by Adam Bonello H Keith and IRA LOSCO,hit number one for 4 weeks in the local charts. On 10th December 2007, "Living It..." was released in local cinemas and on DVD. It includes memorable Live performances, international collaborations,videos, never seen before backstage footage, a personal interview and exclusive new tracks off the album.In January, a music video for "Don't Look Down" was released. "Idle Motion" is the third single from the new album, and was released in March 2008. On 21 May 2008, the fourth single entitled "Promises" was released on local radio stations. "Fortune Teller" will be released abroad, possibly at the end of year 2008. Ira Losco was the main supporting act for Duran Duran, at a concert held in Malta on 26th July, 2008. She also headlined the YMCA Europe Festival 2008 on 8th August 2008 in front of thousands in Prague, Czech Republic. [ [http://www.ymca2008.com YMCA Europe Festival 2008 - Homepage ] ]

The fifth single, "Elvis Can You Hear Me?" was released on August 21, 2008 on local radio stations.
