pubs , aprimary school ,fire station , a co-operative supermarket and postoffice, auction mart, swimming pool, railway station (part of theSettle-Carlisle line) and theBells of Lazonby bakery complex.The parish church of St. Nicholas forms a united benefice with churches at nearby
Great Salkeld and Kirkoswald.In recent years many new housing developments have sprung up in the village. The village today is lived in mostly by people who work in either Penrith or
Carlisle .The parish of Lazonby contains no other villages but does include the settlements of Baronwood and Brackenbank. At Low Plains there is a mineral water bottling plant.
Plumpton or Plumpton Wall was a chapelry or
township of Lazonby until 1866.There is currently a scheme up and running called the 'Lazonby Youth group' on Thursday nights at Lazonby village hall for people aged between 13 and 18.
There is a music concert every year starting in 2008 called LazonbyFest. Featuring local and national bands. Taking place on the first saturday of July, to raise money for the local school.
