July 1 ,1970 .Fussa, along with it's neighboring cities
Iruma andTachikawa , contains a strong military presence. The eastern portion of the city's economy focuses mainly on the base and servicing those who live there. Western Fussa-shi lies on the banks of theTama River , is home to many parks, recriational facilities, two Japanese sake breweries, and well-groomed bicycle paths. Facing west from anywhere in the city includes a stunning panoramic view of the mountains which surround Tokyo, includingMt. Fuji on a clear day.Education
