All students are encouraged to participate in athletics as a way to build healthy bodies and an understanding of the value of teamwork. 91% of its students participate in sports during their high school years and this year 39% of its graduating seniors received some form of financial assistance related to athletics. The school has a variety of sports. Men's and women's soccer, Men's and women's basketball, women's tennis, softball, baseball, wrestling, football, men's golf, track and field, cross-country, and spirit team. The women's basketball team recently won the 2A State Championship in 2008. The football team won the 2A State Chapionship in 2005, and most recently in 2006. The women's softball team also won 2A State Championship by defeating the 6 time Defending Champs Erie High School. In the past couple of years the wrestling program has shown vast improvement with sending the most wrestlers to the state tournament. Recently in 2007-08, the program sent 5 wreslters to the state tournament. This year also had two of the highest placers in school history. Keith Closson (112) placed 8th, also Michael Gutierrez (HWT) placed 8th as well.
Curriculum
Holy Family High School extends the challenge of academic excellence to all students enrolled in the school.
We prepare students for their future in a learning environment that is characterized by concern for the dignity of the human person as created by God, revealed by Christ, and taught by the Catholic Church.
Holy Family High School is accredited by the North Central Association. The required minimum program of studies prepares every student for college.
The college preparatory curriculum affords students the opportunity for a wide variety of choices to meet their individual needs and to prepare them for life after high school.
The Honors and Advanced Placement Curricula challenge the academically gifted. Holy Family offers four-year programs in art. social studies, theology, English, French and Latin. There are five year programs in mathematics, science and Spanish.
The faculty/staff have earned degrees from nearly 40 institutions; over seventy percent hold at least a master's degree.
