Tatsuno, Hyōgo

nihongo|Tatsuno|たつの市|Tatsuno-shi is a city located in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. Before the big merger in 2005 of the 1st generation, its name was written 龍野市.

As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 82,046 and a population density of 394 persons per km². The total area is 210.93 km².

History

The city was founded on April 1, 1951.

On October 1, 2005, the towns of Ibogawa, Mitsu and Shingū from Ibo District merged into Tatsuno City (1st one) to become the new city of Tatsuno (2nd one). To reflect the new character of the city, it changed its Japanese writing from 龍野市 to たつの市.
