The city has twoCentral Japan Railway Company train stations, Washizu station and Shinjohara station. It is also home toSuzuki Motor Co. Ltd.'s Kosai assembly plant, Suzuki's main domestic production plant.The city was founded on
January 1 ,1972 .The name of the city means "west of the lake". It refers to
