Charles E. Johnson (businessman)

Charles E. Johnson (Chuck) is the founder and Managing General Partner of Tano Capital, a California based family office and alternative asset management firm, with offices in Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai, Mauritius and San Francisco Bay Area.

Mr. Johnson was formerly co-president of Franklin Resources, Inc. ("Franklin Templeton Investments"; NYSE: “BEN”), and CEO of Templeton Worldwide Inc. Mr. Johnson's responsibilities included global oversight of all portfolio management, information technology, product development and mergers and acquisitions. While serving as CEO of Templeton, Mr. Johnson greatly expanded the firm’s global footprint, and opened over 20 new offices in locations including Taiwan, mainland China, India, Russia and Brazil.

Charles Johnson received a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Business in 1985, and a Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in 1979. Mr. Johnson is also certified as a CPA by the California State Board of Accountancy.

Mr. Johnson also serves on the board of Curriki, a non-profit formed to empower educators to deliver and share curricula, as well as the advisory board of a Salvation Army rehabilitation center based in South San Francisco.
