bank currently in state ofbankruptcy and put under supervision of court-orderedcurator s.The bank was founded by Cornelis van der Hoop in
Rotterdam in1895 , with its headquarters moved toAmsterdam some time later.On
December 9 2005 , the bank was found by a Dutch court to be in a position in which it requires special attention. Its liquidity position was found to be existing out of € 140 million in demands, while its credit facilities consisted of only a mere € 68 million. Also, the Nederlandsche Bank (Dutchcentral bank ) was concerned about the solvency of the bank. The bank was declaredbankrupt by the same court onDecember 16 2005 , when the bank showed it had a negative balance of € 9 million. Earlier in2005 , the bank had settled a claim of € 5.5 million with the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration ("Belastingdienst") for not paying some of the corporative taxes on its daughter companies.Under the
