Roma (
Amrita Singh ) and Reema Mathur (Juhi Chawla ) are the daughters of Mr. Mathur (Saeed Jaffery ), a wealthy business man. Growing up Roma had always been spoiled and gets everything she desires, and is a competitive child. Her sister Reema is quite reserved, and usually lets her sister take the spotlight. Both grew up to be entirely different, but the only similarity is that both sisters fell in love with the same man, Ravi Saxena (Jackie Shroff ).Always the center of attention, Roma caught his eyes first. Reema was heartbroken, but puts on a brave face. Both Ravi and Roma agreed to get married. Unfortunately, Roma is also very ambitious to get an offer to be a star in a film starting the day of her wedding. Therefore, she accepts and abandons Ravi minutes before their wedding. Ravi is furious and in turn, marries Reema instead, because he knew her love was pure although it may take time.
During their marriage their relationship was quite uncomfortable but Ravi soon falls in love with Reema. Unfortunately Roma comes back home in rage and tells them both that they will never be happy because she was betrayed. Determined to get Ravi back she is willing to do anything including ruining her sister's life....
