- Hunter's Bar
Hunter's Bar is a roundabout and former toll bar on
Ecclesall Road in South-WestSheffield and was active until the late19th Century . The name also attaches to the area surrounding Hunter's Barroundabout at the intersection of Ecclesall Road, Brocco Bank, Sharrow Vale Road and Junction Road. The toll bar now stands in the middle of the roundabout.Hunter's Bar is located in the Ecclesall ward of the Hallam constituency: the main shopping area in the suburb is what was formerly known as
Endcliffe Market , and is situated on Ecclesall Road. Much of the terraced housing in Hunters Bar and nearby Sharrow Vale is directly attributed to the industrial revolution, where housing was built for workers.Near to the roundabout are
Endcliffe Park , Hunter's Bar Infant and Junior Schools, as well as many shops, restaurants andoff-license shops.Much of the housing in the area consists of terraces, with a high density of
