ΔΞΝ History
Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. was founded by five women on October 7, 1997 in order to promote cultural awareness and diversity on the Texas A&M University Campus and surrounding Bryan/College Station area. Jaime Slaughter, Jetje Brewton, Adrienne Magirl, Rena Kharbat, and Lesliam Quiros established Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority with the mission to promote diversity and cultural awareness. Being African American, Dutch, Irish/Mexican, Palestinian, and Puerto Rican, they wanted to tell the world that it was their differences that had brought them together and made them stronger.
The sorority's mission statement says "The Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. is committed to the furtherance of multiculturalism by promoting diversity and cultural awareness in our local communities and throughout the world."
