The Busboys is a rock group that enjoyed some popularity in the early 1980s. What was most unusual about the band was that everybody black (except for the drummer, who was a Mexican-American), more than a decade after the Jimi Hendrix era, when blacks in the US were generally no longer playing or listening to rock and roll. Their biggest hit, "The Boys Are Back in Town" was featured in the 1982 movie "48 Hrs." as well as Eddie Murphy's HBO special entitled "Delirious" the next year. Their song "Cleanin' Up the Town" was on the soundtrack for the movie "Ghostbusters" (1984).

Comeback

After several years out of the limelight, the group made an appearance on ABC TV during the Capital One Bowl on New Years Day 2005 under their new name, "Brian O'Neal and the Busboys." And in early 2006, they released a new album.
